This red truck is a close-enough picture that helps tell the story for J and J. When they first came to LTHC, they lived in the truck. It was a challenge because he had pretty serious health issues in addition to no housing. Our staff was able to help them get into an apartment and they have stopped by a few times since then. J’s health has continued to improve — he no longer needs an oxygen tank and is able to do some work. Which is where that red truck comes in again — J is now able to do all kinds of odd jobs to support them! When he was here today, J was looking for a couple of other guests to help him do some jobs — he teared up when he was talking about that part because LTHC once helped him, he wants to now help others.
