LTHC has certainly earned a badge for flexibility in the past month! We have remained open, busy, and COVID-19 free — all of which are reasons to celebrate. Since March, our staff have worked hard to get as many people as possible into housing so we could keep a manageable number of guests in our Day Services Center. We have housed over 50 households in two months!

In addition to the focus on expediting housing, LTHC also used a local hotel for approximately two dozen guests to de-concentrate our Day Services Center. Half of those guests we put in the hotel were considered medically fragile and the other half were close to getting into housing. LTHC has implemented a number of other changes — with the meals, the crisis shelter area, staffing areas and procedures, as well as with donations and volunteers.

As of this post, we are looking for volunteers to help daily (1-3 pm) with packaging tasks (i.e. rolling silverware in napkins) and we always have a need for kitchen and meal assistance — both with food donations and serving. Email Jennifer at jshok@lthc.net for more information.
