New name, new logo, same mission….ending homelessness in Tippecanoe County
December 7, 2016Vision for 2017
December 21, 2016Brrrrr….Baby it’s cold outside!
That’s what many of us are thinking when we are scraping our car windows and walking in from the parking lot. But we put our head down and get through it knowing it will be quick. Imagine if it wasn’t quick, though, imagine if you were out in this weather all night.
That’s what is happening in our community for individuals who don’t get space in a shelter — they are sleeping in cars, in tents, and under bridges. LTHC Homeless Services staff works very hard to make sure these people have what they need to get through the night as best they can. Our Homeless Services Program provides meals every day as well as coats, scarves, gloves, blankets, hand-warmers, etc. but what we really want to do is get these folks into housing.
How do we do that and how can you help? LTHC invites you to take advantage of end-of-year tax savings and make a donation to our organization. Your unrestricted financial gift helps us target the areas that will impact homelessness in the most significant way. Sometimes that means “buying stuff” to make sure our clients have what they need to get buy until housing is available and sometimes that means “paying” for the obstacles that stand in the of housing (i.e. security deposit or old utility bill).
An unrestricted donation allows LTHC Homeless Services to make a difference to those who are experiencing homelessness…it allows YOU to make a difference in ending homelessness.
LTHC offers a variety of giving options — one time gifts via cash, check or charge (on our website) or since you are on the website, click monthly donation to be a part of our on-going campaign. We have a giving club called Home For Keeps which for all donors who give over $260. In addition, our organization can accept gifts of stock or other bequest-type contributions. Donors can fund our agency’s Endowment Fund at the Community Foundation of Greater Lafayette. All gifts are tax-deductible.
It is the season of giving so today, and year round, we invite you to give to LTHC Homeless Services.
Best,
Jennifer Layton
